Nothing is Repeated - But Loved Ones Have Been Seen
You will not have an afterlife that is a carbon copy of your life here on earth. Probably. No need to rule anything out, because this is one Mysterious Universe, and God is “in charge.” She's not ruling like a tyrant, even though some events might look that way from our perspective.
While it is true that all things of this world are in flux; being created; eventually passing away; there is a Divine Reality that transcends the world of flux. We are a part of that reality. Though we are “created” by God, the reality of us does not pass away. Only our earthly appearances do. So it is important to meditate upon the reality of God and Soul and firmly establish ourselves in that understanding for ourselves.
Even while still on earth, very spiritually advanced, or very devoted people have seen their loved ones in visions. God can project an image of the loved one back again. Events of life (and the earthly appearances of people - like their motion picture photographs) are saved in the akashic (etheric space) records waiting to be accessed if needed. The real Self, the Soul, is not really this motion picture “footage” and is not really what we are going through during our trials and tribulations on earth. It is and it is not. We are much more than what we seem.
When Loved Ones Pass On - They are Not Gone
When our loved ones pass on, they are not gone. Their earthy appearance is gone, only. They are occupying a higher vibrational realm, similar to a different TV channel. By deep meditation and yoga practice, especially Kriya yoga pranayama, or a similar pranayama practice, we can gradually learn to tune to different channels.
